I recently visited my friend Janet at Toyota Head Quarters in Torrance, California. I was in town for Nitto Tire Auto Enthusiast Day but made a quick stop to check this much anticipated project I had the pleasure of being a small part of. Janet sent me cell phone pics of this beauty a few weeks ago but when I seen it rolling up to Toyota HQ, I instantly knew those photos did not do it justice. Janet’s 1970 Toyota Corona was built by Duane (husband) from the ground up from pretty much a shell. I wish I could show you the before photos but I promised not to since the Crown is being featured in an upcoming issue of Super Street which will feature the “Before” pics. I’ve listed some of the features/mod list below – a theme you’ll start to notice is that the word “Custom” is in front of almost everything. In the case of a lot of parts, Duane had to fabricate (or have fabricated) himself. As you might imagine, parts for a 1970 Toyota Crown are not widely available. But, here are a few photos of this beauty for you to enjoy and share with friends.
